A Message From Area 2
Director - Gail Kelsall
What an awesome 50th Anniversary for
Harmony, Inc!!! It truly was a very special event!
And Area 2 shone so brightly! What a talented group of women!! And
seeing the ladies who were Founding Members, and seeing the Champlain
Echoes 50 year women - my heart just did flip-flops!!! See what a dream
can do!!! The competitions were wonderful - and didn't Area 2 just
blow everyone away!!! Barbara Ann, hats off to you - for all the energy
and love you poured into this event!! You know we all just love you to
bits!!!
The Area 2 members who were at Registration - Gayle Jordan, Marj Andrew -
a huge thank you to you! Diane Zanetti - thank you for all you do for
Harmony, Inc. Area 2 members demonstrate their love for the art of
barbershop singing - by participating in events and by standing up when
volunteers are needed! My appreciation goes out to you all. I am very
proud to be the Area 2 Rep ---OOOPS!!!! I mean Area 2 Director! (new
name!) (I wanted to called the Area 2 Duchess, but the IBOD didn't go for
it!!!).
Quartet Contest was fabulous and weren't all the quartets from Area 2 just
super fabulous!
Hats off to you all for the energy and love you put into your art!!!! It
shows, and people know that!!!! Choruses - awesome! And look at the
number of quartets and choruses from Area 2 who were in the Top 10!!!!
Area 2 really Rocked!!!! And it was great to see members from Harmony in
Motion and Noteable Blend there!! We saw old friends and made some new
friends. I have to tell you about my new friend - her name is Donna
Shepherd and she sings with Georgia Connection. I was in the Hosp. Room
waiting to have my 10 minute massage (which was absolutely grand). I sat
at a table with 3 ladies from Georgia Connection. We got to talking about
the weather, etc, etc and various and sundry topics. When asked where I
was from - I said Montreal Canada. Donna piped up and said "Oh, I was
born in Canada" Where - said I. WINNIPEG - she said. I nearly jumped
over the table at her. I jumped up and fairly screamed - " Winnipeg is my
home town!" Well, after all the hugging and kissing was over, we sat down
and had a nice little chat about Winnipeg. So, we exchanged emails and we
are going to communicate!!! How cool is that!! It truly is a small,
small world!! So, that's the story about my new friend who was raised in
my home town, Winnipeg, and now sings with the Georgia Connection!!!
I know that everyone is weary from well-doing today. Exhausted is a word
that comes to mind! But a good feelin, nonetheless!!! The Friday morning
Membership Meeting will be a wonderful memory!! How wonderful to see some
Founding Members on stage!!! And the wonderful ladies from Champlain
Echoes, celebrating their 50th Anniversay, who have been members of the
chorus right from the start!! They are stars that shine brightly in
Harmony, Inc. And in Area 2!
Love and hugs to all who were at the 50th - performers and non-performers
alike.
I am proud to be Area 2 Director!!! Sincerely, Gail
