CONTEST

All contest related questions should be directed to Tricia Harris, Contest & Judging Chairman for Area 2. The Judging Panel will be posted here as soon as they are available. Terri Bennett is handling the contest responsibilities for Silk'n Sounds.

The Contests will be held at Wilbur Cross High School, 181 Mitchell Drive, New  Haven, about 2 miles from the Omni.  The Quartet Contest will begin in the late afternoon on Friday.  The Chorus Contest will begin mid-day on Saturday.

The draw for Order of Appearance for Area 2's AC&C was held 3/17 with the Silk'n Sounds chapter. Following are the results of the draw by Tricia Harris, Area 2 Contest & Judging Chairman.

Additional Contest Information

 

-- Contestants will be assigned a classroom at Wilbur Cross High School to use as they prepare to go onto the contest stage. There will be no other warm-up rooms. When you are escorted from your assigned classroom, your next stop will be the stage door.
 

-- All contestants will enter Stage Right and exit Stage Left.

-- The stage has a center split curtain that will be used during the chorus contest. The curtain will be open during the quartet contest. There will not be a quartet shell.

-- The stage is 50 feet wide, 30 feet deep, and 7 feet 3 inches from the front drape (curtain) to the edge of the stage.

-- Contestant photos (portraits) will be taken immediately following the contestant's onstage performance.

-- The Contestant briefing will be 3:15 - 3:45 on Friday afternoon at the Omni Hotel.

-- There will be 3 rounds of quartet evaluations on Friday after the contest. These will be held back at the hotel.

-- There will be 2 rounds of chorus evaluations on Saturday after the contest. The current plan is to hold the first round at the high school and the second round at the hotel, but this is subject to change.
